Is your school thinking about one-to-one? Mobile learning devices?

If you're an educator, you know these are hot topics this year.  But with so many devices out there, how are schools supposed to choose the ones that make most sense for their students?

How do we do this in an affordable way?  How can we keep students on task if they each have mobile internet devices in their hands?  How will teachers maintain control?  How will we manage the devices from a district level?  How can we make sure the devices are delivering meaningful content?

These are all questions that come to mind when we start thinking about implementing a one-to-one initiative.  A lot of schools are finding their answers in KUNO, a mobile student device available from CIM.  At a starting price point under $340, it's a viable option for many schools.  Since it uses the open architecture, Android operating system, KUNO can also be paired with CurriculumLoft Explore1to1, a device management solution also available from CIM.  With CurriculumLoft, students only have access to course materials and other teacher-approved content/apps.  The content is rich, standard-aligned material developed in collaboration by teachers and administrators for your school/district.

Choosing to go one-to-one shouldn't be a quick decision made without stopping to ask "What do we actually want to accomplish with these devices?"  The solution has to make sense for your school, and it has to be an effective enhancement to the learning environment.  To learn more about KUNO or CurriculumLoft, contact your local CIM Educational Consultant, or contact us.
