The US$787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), signed into law by President Barack Obama, includes more than $100 billion for education, the largest investment in schools ever made by the U.S. government. The stimulus package specifically includes $650 million for education technology in the Enhancing Education Through Technology program (EETT).

The passage of the ARRA is only the first step in designating funds for education. Still uncertain are how funds will be distributed, the timing of disbursements and reporting requirements. Governors in each state will decide how to allocate the $49 billion in state stabilization funds.

With US$650 million in American Reinvestment and Recovery Act's (ARRA) funds available for education technology,  Educators will finally be able to create the kind of 21st-century classrooms needed across North America.
